Havent seen my parents for over a year. Last Christmas mum was in hospital with flu. They have had their first covid jabs. Mum has had a bad reaction to hers. And so it goes on. But enjoy your moment.

What a touching post. Enjoy your precious moment with your mum. In ordinary times it's so hard when a parent has dementia, but your memories of her show that you know that the person she was, she still is behind the illness.
Really hoping you find her comfortable and settled in the short time you see her.

It's been a tough 10 months with lots of tears but tomorrow I will see my mum. Late down the dementia journey sadly I cannot hold her hand but I can say "I love you". Doing a happy Christmas dance like a child. Merry Christmas to you all xx

Hope you have a great day and enjoy your moment with your mum, you have the memories made to fall back on.

It has been a terrible year , but I feel especially really sorry for people not being able to see their loved ones. Have a good Christmas.

Won't be having Christmas with my folks but thanking my lucky stars that's about rules and they are all healthy and happy. We will meet for a socially distanced walk in a park on Boxing Day. Am also very very lucky to have a very small but wonderful yard bubble to spend Christmas Day with. It won't be the Christmas I had been looking forward to, but many blessings to count and so much to be grateful for.

I'm a Dad, middle 60s in age, I haven't hugged my daughter for 7/8 months & only seen her from a distance a few times. Pubs, restaurants, cinemas etc closed & I don't care, but he lack of contact between me & my daughter is really wearing me down. I am getting very forgetful, I can't remember names, I can't remember the word I want to use in speech or in writing. I have to describe the word & my wife gives me the word I want. People say to me that we & they get forgetful at our age but I know it's not that I've seen my doctor and done some tests. I'm heading towards dementia & it's frightening. All of you out there, don't take your parents for granted, they won't be here for ever & if you can't get to see them that often give them a call & when you do see them give them a hug, it means so much. God bless you all, have a good Christmas.
