Chatting to upset neighbour earlier. He spent most of yesterday dealing with an injured bird found in his garden. Took it to a shelter and turns out its a turtle dove (protected) with an airgun pellet in its wing. Neighbour and shelter will be notifying the authorities.

Question for those of you who shoot is, will this get investigated and is there any register of who actually holds airguns?

Depending on position of pellet, dove is likely to be pts.

Do wildlife prosecutions occur apart from birds of prey?

Was probably a numpty thinking it was a pigeon... You have no idea how many doves I have saved from a pellet by pointing out the difference..!

Pellet in it's wing. So needs PTS??? Find that very odd. If in it's body then maybe but...
