Not Liking new layout...

Ive not been on here for a while so don't know how long its been 'new style' but I really don't like it!! Maybe cos i'm old school, before it was easy to reply to threads & create new ones now its abit too *bling modern! I may have to take myself elsewhere! Anyone else agree?!?! :confused:
 
I don' t like it either. Find I'm visiting less and less. Might be easier on a smartphone but certainly not on pc or ipad.As for the adverts, well I don't even notice them, besides which I'm hardly likely to buy a horse on a whim because I just happen to have seen an ad on the side.
Certainly not easy on the eye, or easy to navigate either.Bad job HHO.
 
I've had a whinge today on the Feedback section (where this one will probably end up).

I've gone from being practically addicted to just hopping in when I've absolutely nothing better to do, which is sad :(. I use another forum, also vBulletin, but far easier to use!

I keep hoping I'll get used to this one, but apart from the number of times it logs me out (Argh!), I find it fiddly to navigate/use.
 
MrsM would you mind saying what other forum you use? Had just got the hang of HHO when format changed and there is a definite reduction. In traffic/ variety IMHO
 
Another who hates it, I am not a prolific poster, but have alway enjoyed reading this forum. I am coming here less and less. I use on an iPad. The actual forum is squashed to one side to make room for all of the adverts. The old set up, was much much better and easier to use.
 
Im not on here as much as I used to be but whats with the 'quick navigation'? Its awful, the old layout was so much quicker to switch between posts, rooms etc. I always used to have a H&H tab open but now just come in for a nosey, then get fed up with its cumbersome layout :( Wheres the smilies gone too :(
 
I'm also having problems loging in (which gets boring very soon) and still find the background too bright. It gives me headaches after about half an hour so I am not on here as much anymore.
 
Another who'd like to be directed to a new forum.

Sorry, but it also annoys me that Admin apparently failed 'O' Level English.... Typoes, badly constructed sentences, and an inability to convey the message wot they intend.
 
I don't mind it - after awhile I've stopped noticing the ads although the roll-over ones are a PITA. I've learnt my way around and it's not logged me out yet which I thought it was going to do every week?

I do find my eyes drying out more (contact lenses) than under the old colour scheme and I had to turn down the brightness on my laptop.
 
I use it on my iPhone and iPad. I like the mobile version tbh (which you can switch to on the ipad) I haven't tried to pm anyone yet but it used to annoy me that you couldn't reply on the old mobile site. I agree about it hurting your eyes though.

Have to say its still much better than the cycling forum my oh uses.

You can change the colour on the desktop version of the forum. Go to the bottom left of the page and there is a drop-down-box. Click on the arrow and then select 'HHO 2013 Style' and the forum changes to beige and green. You still have all the white around the copious ads, but it is easier on the eyes than the pale blue colour scheme.

I have just done this, much improved, didn't like the blue.

Do you click the 'remember me' (or whatever it's called) button when you log in? I found that I need to click that or it logs me out while I'm typing a reply, which is very frustrating as you then lose what you've written and have to start again. :mad3:

The old smilies can be found if you 'go advanced' and then click 'more' under the pictures of the new smilies. :thumbup:
 
Not liking the new site at all

Headings are hard to figure out amongst all the other wording and the smilies are deformed! They are no longer clear in fact a bit creepy.

Don't expect that our comments will be noted though!
 
I hate it! I used to feel really at home here, now it seems so impersonal and awkward to use. I hardly spend any time on here now.

Yes m'duck :( It still decides in the most ad hoc fashion to tell me to bunk off :( Plus it takes two goes to log in. I use all sorts of different machines, so am used to having to log in, that isn't an issue, it's the fact that I have to do it at least twice each time :(

Add the silly small area for the actual posts and the odd font and sizing and it's just a pain to use. I only really browse now and that doesn't take long either (once I've got in and set the screen so the adverts to the right are hidden), as there are definitely fewer posts. Hate to whinge (honest!) as I've had some wonderful support from here over the years and made some wonderful friends, but I'm seeing them either in RL or on the other forum more and more, so my time here will dwindle.

Boo hoo.

Not impressed have just been writing a private message in the skinny message box and it suddenly vanished - not sure what has happened to it - gone pft! into thin air.

Will go back and compose in Word and then copy and paste then at least I won't lose it
 
I completely agree that they have taken a silk purse and tried to turn it into a sow's ear (why?????) and the space that the ads take up is far too much... and we have even more of those annoying 'roll over' ads now. :(

Please PM me the other forum if that's OK - I'd like to have a look at it if it's better than here now. :)
