Why would someone put this in an advert
confused.gif

They normally say its because "they have heard of vets making them lame on vettings, with flexion tests and therefore won't risk it" in fact they are lying through there teeth and trying to avoid vets getting near a horse that is obviously dodgy!

QR - Thanks thats what I thought.
£1500 its the "real gentleman" ad on the right. I just wondered if i was missing something!

Was is the advert in last weeks horse and hound as it looked a nice animal but must have had an injury to a ligament or tendon that has sort of mended but could go again

I dont understand why someone would write that though? Would you not avoid the subject if you had a totally lame horse to sell?? (hypothetically of course, it could be fine and not saying i would ever do that lol!)

Sounds like they know it will fail the vet so they are saying dont bother to ring if you want to vet the horse. They probably dont want to be bothered with vettings as they know it will fail. Vettings are very timeconsuming especially if you know the horse will fail. Fair enough if they are upfront about its problems.

I bought my horse for exactly that money and he had buggered hocks, the vendor was completely up front and honest about it and showed me her vets report. I did however have him 2 stage vetted to make sure nothing else was wrong. He's been an absolutely fab happy hacker (best bred one there is! LOL!) and has a home with me for life, I guess this is what this horses vendor is hoping for, but sadly in this market I'm not sure if she'll make the price.

I can't understand why anyone would want to go and look at a horse that you're not allowed to vet at all. For all you'd know, it could be doped to the eyeballs.

If it's to do with the 'Gentleman' advert, it also says suitable for light hacking - so my guess would be that the horse has some long term problem. I suspect that the vendors would be completely open about it.

But if that's the case, then way over priced - really free to a good home - and it's a shame that they can't keep it.
