Well took my daughter too with her pony who isnt supposed to be doing much but seems better for it (he has sinusitus) I was going to do the 90cm class and she was doing the one before. Anyway she went fab and asked if she could do the next class.as she had one down, I have a definate no no with competing against her so said she could have my entry and Id do the open??!!
Anyway stupidly having never seen the open fences before watched in horror as they brougt out this big blue thing to replace the water tray, ignoring the huge brush and solid corner. IKnew full well she would think i was mad to ask her to jump over it. So anyway too late to chicken out. My daughter came to give what i thought was moral support instead pointed out the blue thingy and huge brush and the fact that horse has not been anywhere for months (thanks).
Anyway as predicted and despite digging my spurs in and a good whack she slammed on the brakes and looked worriedly at the blue thingy 2 strides away. Infact she was just awful from start to finish (not that we did)
got back to the yard for my trainer to tell me she wasnt suprised and loads of people had probs with it and they always do except for horses that have jumped it before. Went home V fed up.but guess waht we are doing next week !! found out a blue plastic sheet
2 weeks till proper BSJA comp, but fed up with what i thought was a good idea to get out. We did go in warm up after as no one around and jump a bit to be sure it wasnt another issue.
Will check to see if any pics and permission off man who took them, Nice ones of my daughter though!!
