Not ridden my boy for weeks, he has pulled off both front shoes and I know that I'd be busy in the run up to Christmas, farrier is coming on Wednesday though, so I can ride at the weekend!
But we had a great day at our field, we fenced the bigger paddock in half, with wooden stakes and electric tape, it looks very good as we used tensioners and it's very taut! Then we did the fencing for the drive through the field fromt he gate to the stables, which will keep the horses away from the road gate (and stop people stroking/feeding them etc).
Gave the ducks clean water, fed and watered everything, harrowed the fields (we use an old gate from the tip, and drag it behind the landrover - cheap and effective!) and then OH rode Echo, who hasn't been out for over a month I reckon, and I walked with him, about 2 miles. We were up there from about half 10 to half 4, missed lunch and have snacked all evening - not good.
AND we rented the field opposite ours, it's not quite 2 acres, and boggy in one corner (has a well there too, is capped) and we are prepared to spend a bit of cash on electric fencing for it, for £200 for the year. Lovely neighbours of ours own it, they are laid back people, as are we so everyone is happy!
