Reading other posts about LR ponies, and a comment about not expecting to find them cheap etc, I don't know if I've put ours way too cheap, or ott .. I should have asked for help before I put him up!
 I didn't want to come across as advertising, which is why I didn't.

Really I just want him to have a good home, so priced him at 300, but now not sure if I'm just going to get someone in for a quick pound to sell on

Quick run down of him, before you all sit there scratching your heads :)
EX RS pony, used as LR and hacking for confident riders, (Welsh A unregg'd), had put him on perm loan (2 yrs) but he had to come home, and is now just paddock ornament when really, at 14, he could be giving kids some fun.
I put him at 300 thinking, not expensive, but now thinking, ack , not sure.
Perhaps I should have left price off.

I'd have said as unreg, 14 and can't come off the lead rein you're not far off. If you get lots of interest you'll be able to choose a good home!

Far too cheap IMO. I take it he'll come off the LR for an older rider. I paid £1350 for a 16 yr old LR/first pony with tack & rugs 2 years ago.

Someone may well sell him on, so I'd vet prospective purchasers carefully. Why don't you say the price was a misprint & is missing a one at the front!!

He will come off LR, for confident rider (can be forward going) I will be vetting buyers very closely. :S I should have asked for advice!

If you readvertise him with some new photos and a higher price you might get more interest. For £300 I might wonder what's wrong with him.

It's what I am thinking now tiny.
I may just take them all off and start again!
It's not urgent that he goes, I love the little man, we just don't have small rider to enjoy him. :)

I think you have priced him too cheap to keep the dealers away.

I'm not so sure you can be 100% confident that the person you sell to will not sell them on. I've heard a few stories of people being duped into thinking they had sold to a good home only to find shortly afterwards the pony has been moved on again at a higher price.

Also, the genuine buyers might think he is too cheap and wonder what is wrong with him. We nearly missed out on my girl because she was priced really cheap - we were convinced there had to be something wrong with her. Luckily we did go to see her 'just in case' - same situation as you, they wanted her to go to a good home.

I think you should put the price up, you can always bring it down if you find a really nice family that you want him to go to.

Hope you find a lovely home for him though, good luck :)

Gosh that is very cheap, if he is 100% on the lead rein, trustworthy around children on the ground he is worth his weight in gold. A friend sold her two in November for £1750 each and had so many calls on them both.

I would seriously put a 1 in front of the 3, good safe honest ponies are very hard to find, and parents will pay for the safety.

Thanks :)
I've removed his ads and will re-do one :)
I've not sold a pony/horse since my RS days lol. I just want him to go to a lovely home where he can be enjoyed, as I say, it's not urgent, I love having him back, he was the first pony I bought back in the old days!

If you readvertise him with some new photos and a higher price you might get more interest. For £300 I might wonder what's wrong with him.

So would I! Paid £1500 for a 20yo Section A lead rein only pony three years ago. He's reg'd but I hadn't planned to show him so it didn't matter to me. He was worth every penny we paid and I wouldn't have looked at a £300 pony as would have assumed it was priced like that with a problem.

I think you have done the right thing readvertising. I am half heartedly looking for a FR pony at the moment but i wouldnt ring one advertised at that price...i'd think it was either a problem pony or you had missed a zero off!

H is gorgeous and looks like a lovely character, plus you have some excellent photos of him to help him sell. 300 is far too cheap for him!

Hope you find someone to love him and have fun with him, i'm sure you will get loads of interest no matter the price. :)
