Not sure if this is the right forum BUT plz help!!!

Hello everyone,

i am new to this site so please bare with me.....

currently i live in emsworth were i did ride in a school ( but after the whole school was bullyin me coz i am not at the standard as they are, i stopped riding for 8 years after a bad accident so ive stpped going there after 6month)

anyway i am moving to topcliffe,thirsk in a couple of month with my hubby he is in the army and was wondering if there is a school were i can start riding again.

a school that dont care what stage a rider is on and are friendly and bubbly like i remember it back in my old riding days.

anything will help as google isnt really coming up with anything.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I don't know Thirsk, but I would suggest that you visit a few yards (check yellow pages maybe for yards?) and at least then you can get an idea of what they are like yourself before commiting to ride there. Have a chat with the instructors and try to watch a lesson that is of a similar level to yours. Hope you find somewhere you like!

i do realise that thirsk is a really small part of northyorkshire and alot of people have never heard about it,but yeah you dont get if you dont ask.

Ahh but you could get specific people if you put "wanted riding school in thirsk". Best of luck, i'm from sunny surrey so no help whatsoever!

I'm not too far away - but don't know anywhere that I could recommend nr Thirsk!

Have a look at the BHS and ABRS websites to see which schools are in your area. Then give a few a call and pop and visit those that you like the sound of.

Above is the link for the BHS Where to ride in North Yorks - there are a few places to try.

I can't get the ABRS (Association of British Riding Schools) site to work but it may be worth having a try yourself!
