Just found out one of the horses at Moor Farm is being pts at the end of the summer.
He's called Spike.
He's been at the stables for as long as I can remember and he's a real oldie. He has ringbone in his hocks and his knees arn't too good either. He's really difficult to keep weight on so when he's pot bellied they like to keep him that way. He's the horse that taught me to keep my mouth shut whilst galloping along the stubble fields (flys) and the one who taught me how to get a bridle on a 16hh head in the air
Last winter Spike got a really bad cough and had to have super duper warm rugs so he could go out and graze for an hour where he was brought in willinly and had to be warmed up lots.
I know its for the best for him to be pts before the cold winters come as itsbetter for him to die happy than when he gets another chest infection but I just know how hard it's going to be to say good bye as it is for loads of other people as well.
Sorry really pointless post but I had to let it out
