Not sure where I am.

Smokey, have you considered contacting the consumer credit council, they are a charity that help you to deal with your creditors and if necessary sort out an appropriate payment plan, and unlike the companies that advertise on tv they won't cost you anything. You should be able to find details of them on Martin Lewis website, although i think they may have had a name change.

I think if you were to discuss the possibility of selling your girl with your children then they would probably not want you to as they know she makes you happy.

I hope you are able to find a solution to your worries x

Thanks caseycat, I have done all of this already, but it's still tough. The family all know how I feel, and don't want me to sell her. They are prepared to give up some of their activities to help out short term. I'm hoping to get a wee bit extra work over the hols, and at weekends, so if I can just dig in for a bit longer, I might just manage.

so sorry to hear your situation. I totally ran out of money and having to work so much more to stay afloat ment I could not keep my guys. Luckily mum has land in France so the retired ones went to live out there and I was left with my big jumping horse. Couldn't part with him but had him living out until the weather turned and left the field flooded. I couldn't afford to bring him in but didn't want to loan him out as you hear so many awful tales. Then got chatting to a lady who runs a good riding school and she took him on loan. He has settled fab and he is a yard fav. He will stay there till I get back on my feet. I still get to ride him and know he is well looked after. I never thought I would send any horse to a riding school but I have totally changed my mind and reccomend it :)

sorry you feel so down.
just remember you will be doing the best for your family and horse.
Instead of horse going without it will get everything it needs from someone else.

Could you find a shared, loan horse.
or maybe an equine collage or riding centre will take her for a while.
