Not sure why a new post was not made (update on LL's dogs)

Once a ban is in place the RSPCA or possibly local authorities have to step in.

Again do we know she actually owned these horses?

If she has been banned from keeping animals, then is there any way to find out what will or has happened to the horses? Or did I miss something?

Sadly someone being banned from keeping animals doesn't always mean the animals are taken away. For this to happen, the judge has to grant a deprivation order on top of the ban. In some cases, the owner may be allowed to dispose of the animals within a set time period (such as through sale). This can even lead to animals being returned to banned owners by welfare organisations, because they have no choice due to it being the decision of the judge. Don't know if any of you guys remember this, but a judge did want to have the Amersham horses returned to James Gray at one point - happily this was appealed and the horses were therefore saved!

Not defending LL in anyway if there is any truth in these allegations but just a cautionary note - the RSPCA do not have the best reputation in that part of town when it comes to any staffy type issue. It appears that if they see any bull breed it is immediately branded as a pit bull type. Local magistrates are often not educated by any independent body and take the RSPCA word for it in every case unless of course, you can afford an expert of your own in court.

I do know that 'status' dogs are a huge problem in that area and the authorities have to be seen to act but there is an attitude that blames the breed rather than the numpty on the other end of the lead so some of this may be political. Also, local ( and national!) papers have been known to be inaccurate at best and biased at worst.

Anyway I know no more or less than what has been put here, just my thoughts knowing what it can be like in East London as a dog owner.......

Very sad for the dogs - especially Shades/Buster.:(

At the time I didn't get involved with the posts as something just seemed 'wrong' with the way she ignored all the help and advice that was being offered to her - to me any dog owner with nothing to hide would have followed every lead and taken all the help offered:o

I'm confused - I remember something about someone wanting to find urgent homes for a couple of her own dogs for some reason, and the same person trying to find a home for a black and white staffie that then didn't happen?

So do I presume she was making it up all along and was keeping the dogs herself and not looking after them properly?

Whatever the story I can hear the frustration and disappointment in everyone's posts. What a sodding shame it had to happen. But folks, please don't give up the good work you are doing - I sit here sometimes just astounded how you help people out on the forum with their problems and find good homes for their pets, you all need an award rather than a slap in the face like this :(

I am on the Buster/Shades case to find out what happened to him.The other two dogs were sadly of Pit type, one was PTS cos of getting parvo ( :mad:not vaccinated!) and the other would have been PTS. It is not good to be a pit type dog within the reach of the authorities..poor poor things.:(

No need East Kent, i am ringing tomorrow. If Buster has been rehomed, i will pass my details on for the new owner. If not, then i will take him myself. I cannot bear to risk him going to someone else when i could take him. I am totally gutted at how everything turned out, and so guilty for letting him go to someone like her...but most of us were fooled by LL's stories :(
Reading that article made me feel sick to my stomach, and seeing Buster locked up in that crate disgusted me. I cant believe i let him go to her :( I'll never forgive myself....
Thank you Cayla for getting in touch with me, and thanks for all the updates :)
I truely hope Buster has found a lovely home.

What a shocking story. It just goes to show that not everyone behind a computer screen is honest about themselves. I, too, really hope that Buster is ok. If you get any news Jade, it would be great if you can update us if possible.

I really feel for everyone who got taken in by LL, especially you Jadey, no one should blame themselves, she talked the talk well. I really hope you find Buster.

Poor dogs, poor horses :(

Can I all just ask people to remember Winston, Amy, Zack, Abbie, Will and Teal, just *some* of the dogs who have found brilliant homes via this forum.

I hope that good work can continue, even if some feel their fingers have been too badly burned. Which is sad.

LL lied. A lot of us believed her. Silly old us.

But what happened, prevented the suffering of two other dogs, and neither they nor Buster will not be starved to death in horrible conditions.

It also blew the lid further off the very shady dealings of some very shady people who are still blithely posting away on this forum and won't dare comment on this thread because they know they are up to their necks in it, profiteering from the gullible, the incapable and the suffering of innocent animals.
Where were they when animals REALLY needed rescuing from their rescuer?
And when people try to expose their dodgy dealing on this forum, they get banned.
Keep counting your cash while you can still get away with it, folks :)

I was about to post similar, I am not a regular poster on AAD but was involved in the rescue of Candy (Sandy) from a horrible situation. Everyone pulled together then to ensure that she was picked up and taken to her wonderful new home. Maybe the difference there was that I personally knew the person who I handed her over to and she knew the person who was having her, we just provided collection and delivery service. So maybe the lesson is that whilst the forum does wonderful things in finding urgent homes in difficult situations we all need to make sure that the people involved have personal knowledge of the "final destination".

I am so sorry that this has happened, when I got my elderly rescue dog she had not been released for re-homing until the court case against her pervious owners had been concluded so maybe Buster is the same.

Well said CC, there have been some wonderful cases where dog have found new homes through the forum. As for those involved in the shady dealings involving horses, I just hope they take this is a wake up call.

As a newish member Im not entirely au fait with this post but feel free to shoot me down in flames if you think Im wrong.

Having seen the pics of her flat I cant help thinking she had mental health issues, she had nothing to gain financialy but I think the only friends she had was on this forum. Her flat wasnt fit to keep a dog in let alone her son and to me points to someone not coping with everday life

If you or I were not coping financially the last thing we would do is take on another dog but I believe she got so caught up in everything and feeling the centre of attention was what she craved.

Jade Im am so sorry you are blaming yourself but you did what you thought was best for the dog and hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I do hope the remaining dogs and horses find good homes and her son is being given some form of support.

That may be a possibility, when i was on the phone to her, she sounded either drunk or drugged, or both :(
I also heard her son in the background asking to talk on the phone. :(
Fingers crossed that tomorrow there will be good news (either Buster had a lovely home or they will consider me for rehoming) Also i have proof that he is a family member (belonged to my cousin) as i have photos and videos of me and him together.
Will be wishing for the best :)

Hoping he finds his way back to you x

I think it is perhaps best to keep the personal stuff to a minimum for the sake of her little boy...but I will add, I don't think Louise herself was profiteering from the horses. I do think she was a hoarder who was out of her depth.

How terribly sad it ended up this way - shows you never can tell can you. The dogs have yet again been the ones to suffer. I feel for the the two bitches (i know one was already PTS) as they didn't stand a chance did they, all because they are of a certain breed 'type'. Poor things. In any other home, with a responsible owner they may have been able to live.

I do hope there is eventually a happy outcome for the remaining dog as the poor thing has certainly been through the mill and must be so confused by now.

Such a mess, and so sad :(

Must admit that whilst I'm generally more fond of animals than children, I do really feel the most for Owen right now.

.

I agree can't see why anyone would choose to live like that with a child and own so many horses & dogs, then opt to take on another while in that situation. I hope that she gets the help that she & family seemingly need.

Good Luck Jadey with Buster.
