plaits- mane needs to be long, and thick.....then plait upwards,so you need to stand on a box,but leave the first crossosver pretty loose and fluff the sides out before plaiting the rest of it tightly, then thread needle through end of plait and secure that about 1cm from the base of plait/neck and thread needle up and down to the end of the plait again,then roll up and again secure not quite at the base/neck and push the needle back and forward several times through the centre of the plait NOT up and down from top to bottom but back and forth through the middle and you should end up with big round plaits set up high on the neck.
