Thanks

Your xc colours so they are sure who you are! :). I also sometimes mention that the pones a skewbald as this can help them pick her out amongst the bays!

I would say any recent competition results of note in that discipline if you want to but as you havent competed in HT recently maybe a comment about it being your first HT in X amount of years?

I guess you could mention if you are excited/nervous etc since you havent done one for a while?

I dont include too much info tbh others may give more :)

One small random piece of advice dont break the golden rule of swapping tack on competition day! :p I did it today with a new pair of stirrup leathers in a pairs HT had no time to adjust them down in "warm up" as we were running typically late  so set off feeling like an oversized race jockey, very nearly hit the deck during a "sticky moment" at fence 2 but didnt think I could suffer the indignity and clung! before wobbling the entire way round (poor pony!). Still on the plus side a scrambled clear round and some nice jumps over sizeable hedges so cant complain too much :). Good luck and enjoy :)

I commentate at hunter rials sometimes - apart from colours I'd say a quick brief about your horse - age, colour, sex, type/breed etc what you do together, a quirk about your mount and yes, if you haven't done this for a while, tell me! You'll get sympathy and a lot of rooting from me and a huge cheer when you finish (and maybe discreet radio silence if things go er... a bit pear shaped!)

Good luck! :)

(Ok - not THAT huge a cheer, simply because I want you to still be mounted crossing the line)

We don't say recent placings because it always guarantees a messy end!

For Al, we say Reg is an ex-racer, retrained by Al. Her ambition is to event him, and to hopefully bring on another ex-racer once he's more established. Then say her colours, and if she does a lot with that organisation. So say they've done area comps this year and are active members helping at camps and stuff.
