These are before and after pics of my 2 year old Quarter filly.

This was her at the start of Feb getting used to a saddle.

At trainers where she stayed for 2 months.

Home to chill out for the rest of the year. She's now beginning to look like a Quarter horse-look at that bum! What do you think?

She still looks like a baby. I personally wouldn't be starting a horse that early but each to their own! She's pretty though :)

yes QBee, she is young at 2 but that is how it is done. She is one of the lucky ones, the
majority are broken at 2 and are kept in training to compete in the futurity classes when they are 3. I have no qualms about starting young if the animal in question is capable, mentally and physically. She did 2 months training (15 to 20 mins a day)and has come home sound, happy and relaxed. Tbs are broken as yearlings and this is accepted as 'normal' so Im not exactly doing anything 'new'.

What a flippin' rear end she has on her :-)
I think she is a wee stunner, as you know and will be stuffing her in my suitcase to being her home with me when i come to visit lol. Oh no, now you know my cunning plan!!

she is gorgeous but I'm afraid I'm with queenbee on the age thing. It is only 'done' like that because people keep doing it, I wouldn't start any of mine before 4 and in fact have a couple of 5 year olds that I intend to start this year because I didn't consider them mature enough last year. I do think that, unfortunately, their limbs are not fully formed enough at that age to take the extra weight and work - just look at all the ex racehorses with knackered legs and arthritis!
