Am having two of my ponios freezemarked on saturday.

They are both Weatherby's registered - how do I notify Weatherby's of the freezemarks? Do they need to be signed off by a vet as with other identification procedures?

And, with it being Weatherby's.... how much do you reckon it will cost me?!

Im not sure what Weatherbys policy is but when I had mine done the vet was allowed to amend the documents and oversign them. I would phone Weatherbys and ask them as I have a feeling many PIOs arent going to be able to allow this.

I had to send the passports back to Weatherbys but I can't remember if I had to send anything else. I'm pretty sure they weren't signed off by a vet. Sorry - it was 15 years ago.

I spoke to Weatherby's this afternoon.
They want a letter signed off by the vet to say that the horse freezemarked IS the one belonging to the passport, another letter giving them the freezemark number and location, and we are doing change of ownership at the same time as well, so to send them all off with the passport.... Lord only knows how much this is going to add up to!

Strange how PIO's vary so much. When I had three done last year I spoke to the DBS about two donks. They requested the copy of the Freezemark form along with return of the Pasport - and £10 for each!!
