Grading is taken off Notional winnings which means when winning a more 'novice class ie: British Novice Newcomers Disc or Fox. Lets say the prize money is £50 (actual) you would be graded as £20 (notional) So that you dont fly through the grades to quickly. The actual & notional rates are in the BSJA rule book for each class.

In the rule book, notional winnings go to sixth place is this regardless of the number of horses entered in the class? Seems a bit odd when you can have anything from three horses to sixty in a class.
