I was doing Novice 28 thisw weekend but sadly entries are full so going to miss this. Have noticed Hargate have Novice 27, enter on the day so thinking of heading that way.
This will be my first novice and it seems like things come up very qiuck on paper so wondered how it rode. Will have a qiuck test run tomorrow aswell

Yes from what I can remember this is the one in the short arena, left at A, 20m circle then half circles etc.

I find it sometimes quite hard to do tests in a small arena on my horse as he is such a long striding giant (17.1hh WB) big but I found it ok although I prefer long arenas especially for medium trot and canter strides. Can't remember what my score was as I do so many tests and I'm not at home to check on my old test sheets.

I think its fair to say that preperation is the key, so make sure you prepare for your transitions well in advance of the markers and ride accurately and you should be fine. Hope that helps, good luck

Nice test, rides well. Only thing I don't like is the give and retake in canter up the long side - really need to make sure you prepare well for that and ensure your horse is balanced before you do it, as you have nearly the whole long side to do it there is plenty of time to prepare

I did this one a few weeks ago and practising it felt bitty and the give and retake on the long side wasnt my fave move in a test but watching everyone had the same issues and we got 77% so cant have ridden too badly!
I do think its good to test yourself and not stick to the easy tests otherwise its hard to ever move up to the next level - I personally think elem 42 and 44 are no more difficult than n27.
