Hi. I am hoping someone on here can give me a little bit of info please. I am buying my daughter her first pony in March. She wants to start SJ and Cross Country. I am just wondering how we go about this and what it all entails as I really have no idea!!

We live in Manchester.

Any info would be appreciated.

How exciting for you. I would say the best thing to do would be to join a Pony Club or Riding Club they will hold shows and clinics and be able to guide you along the right track.

Hi. Yes its all very exciting, my daughter cannot wait to get started!! Her riding school does have a pony club however they only do badges, they dont do competitions etc. Could you recommend anywhere else to look for more info and how to go about competing? Thanks

Get a good instructor and get her lots of lessons, they both need to be happy doing sj and xc in a non competitive environment before they start competing. Follow your instructors advice on what's suitable for her to do and when. Pony club can probably recommend you an instructor that's good at dealing with her age group. Or maybe some one more local on here.
