Hi all,

I am just wondering if anyone knows if my OH horse can use his pelham in the Blair novice working hunter (84cm)?

I know in most novice workers it's snaffle.

TIA

If it's not mentioned in the schedule rules and if it's not being run under any society rules, then wear what's most suitable to control horse in.

But yes, generally snaffle for novices, but fine to include martingale and possibly flash or grackle if required.

Workers can usually use any bit, it would be quite usual for a hunter in the field to wear a Pelham.

I know in most novice classes it's a snaffle but thinking Blair might be different.

If it's not mentioned in the schedule rules and if it's not being run under any society rules, then wear what's most suitable to control horse in.

I'll need to have another read but the only thing I can see that mentions snaffle it's says "snaffles permitted". X

I don't know where you've read that novice workers should be shown in a snaffle. I have been involved with BSPS and unaffiliated adult workers classes for the last 30yrs and never come across that rule.
