Rode J yesterday and decided he had to be clipped before competing on sunday as he is so hairy! Went to get my clippers from the tackroom this morning and discovered they were not there! So when the b****y buglers broke into my tackroom they did take something, I am so p****d off now!

Why do people think they can just help themselves?

Thing is it meant they had a really good look around as clippers were hidden from view. Still cant believe they left my saddle!

The police took the lock away, failed to get any prints though. Left the dog shut in the garage last night so he would wake if anyone was around and he woke me up at around 1ish barking, the security lights had all come on too, but couldn't see anyone, makes me think they have been keeping a eye on the place for a while

Sometimes they are not looking for saddles etc, we have had several spates around us, most of them were tack but 2 they were only targeting rugs or equpiment (clippers etc!) so most of my stuff lives in my car now because you cannot trust anyone!

Can I please urge people to check their insurance too as my friend had her saddle stolen from the yard and her insurance didnt cover it as there were more than 5 horses on the yard (in the small print of a very well renowned company!)

How awful for you, it really does affect you psychologically when these things happen. You'll probably get really paranoid about everything you do, doors, going to bed, windows, handbags, etc but that's all no bad thing.

Of course you can always replace clippers in the long term, after a bit of saving, but at least your horse is okay. Do make sure you have told the police and local people, also if there is a crime watch around.

It would be great if you could borrow a handy doberman who loves to eat burglars for the night, but of course that's not nice for the poor dog.

I love the quote in your sig stephl07

That's the worst thing about being broken into... Finding things missing days or even weeks after.

Sorry you've had such bad luck.

Daughters had radio cassette player nicked by decoraters working at her house, what is it with people, oh I know, WE NEED THE DEATH PENALTY OR CHOP THEIR BLOODY HANDS OFF.

Our barn was broken into a while back, it took quite some work to get in. We were amazed to find nothing apparently missing - until three months later. Hubby went to find his £300 brush cutter, which had been very well hidden. Gone. How the h*** did they kow where to look for that, and that item in particular?
