I went to a party last night, and as I could take the children with me I left my mobile at home. I stupidly thought that no one would need to get hold of me.
When I arrived home at 11.45, I had two missed calls and a message on my home phone !! It was my friend who lives in a house where the horses are to tell me they were out in the field next door.
The farm is 250 acres, but we only rent about 5 acres, and the field they escaped to is not one we rent !!
Sooooo at midnight, I decided they could wait till the morning.
I got up very early and went to find the horses and they were standing in their field where they usually are waiting for their breakfast.
I was there about an hour, mucking about, and no one came to tell me they had moved them, so I went home to phone my friend to thank her for the call last night and to say someone had put them back in their field.
Whilst on the phone, her children shouted that the horses were out again
So back in my car I got to go and collect them again.
I arrived to find my friend in the field with the horses, she said she had caught them and put them back and by the time she had walked across the field, they were out again
We found a VERY small gap where they were getting out and repaired it.
I have realised that the little buggers have been sneaking out as soon as I drive away over the last two weeks, and popping back into their field at feed time and stand there looking as if butter wouldnt melt
The field they have been escaping into is about 7 acres with knee high grass, and I have been wondering why their legs are so wet up to their knees for the last couple of weeks
well now I know !!
Of course, my Thomas wouldnt dream of doing anything so naughty
Its that friend of his Rodney
He is a very naughty boy !!
I just cant believe the cheek of them
