Hi guys . My mare went lame in Feb this year . Very long story short but after mri and x rays I got told she had fractured her right front pedal bone . She had 2 months box rest with cast on . A tildren injection . Then walking in hand . I've been told to ride her just in walk out hacking . Anyways she is still extreamly lame and I can see no improvement . My farrier has put her in heart bar shoes with pads . Anyway tonight I was going through my insurence papers and it says her injury is ' fracture in right front sidebone/changes in pastern & Left front navicular' no mention of pedal bone !! I'm now really confused . Obviously I'll be straight onto the vets in the morning . Are they really serious what my horse has ?? I'm now super worried !

Still extremely lame after six months? I would be asking some very big questions of the vets and the treatment. There is no way any lame horse should be ridden. I would be worried too - good luck.

Just reply back to this my local vet came out and hes quite consered with how badly lame she is . Not wanting to go into too much detail but he has no idea what it could be but definitely thinks it's not a fracture! It's 100% in her foot :( I'm so worried about her . She's traveling next week back to the specialists to see if they can find out anything .

That's a long time to still be really lame I really hope you get some answers next week, and fingers crossed it's nothing really serious, they are a real worry when they go wrong I know had my fair share of that this year, please let us know how you get on at the vets next week x
