Now is the time to start begging my parents...

I agree - perfect. :D

Well as I'm living at home this year I will have more money than I had last year........

I got accepted into a college and you can take your horses there! So it'd be ok!
Nono! I'm not asking for my parents to pay for one. I recently lost my job - another downer I know - but I am job hunting and so I will be paying.

Maybe you're right. But well, I feel ready for a horse. After longing for one for years and now I get the chance.

I don't know anymore.

Edited:
Meh, I did not make a great start at the yard near by. I was immature and ballsed it up ('scews my language)
I know what you mean about a Share but I just can't help feeling i'd fall out with whoever I shared with.
Unfortunately I have a big mouth and get into trouble voicing my opinions. X

Honestly though if you take your horse to college and its only a youngster you will not only be paying for facilities that you cant use fully, the turn out is normally rubbish, he wont have other youngsters to socalise with and every one else will be out riding and having fun on their horses that you wont be able to join in with because yours will be to young. I think you would be better off getting some thing thats been out and about and seen a bit of the world that you can get on and have fun straight away, then you also wont be supporting these low life dealers that treat their horses in this way.

You have also just admitted that your likely to fall out with people, what would you do with him once you have fallen out with the people on the yard at college? and trust me college yards have lots of fall outs.

Only a bad thing if you think it is!
Put the time to good use, read and learn as much as you can, find a good RS and maybe even do stages 1 & 2 if you feel up to it.
Thankfully , there are many ways to keep horsey without owning :)

I suppose so. My heart is and has always been set on getting a job and then getting my own horse. I just hate waiting, not a patient person at all!

Fair play, i'm more an animal person than a people person. I just, if someone says something ridiculous, I will speak up and be like 'oh my days, why would you even bother saying that'. Do you know what I mean?
I'm a horse lover and would love to get a job working with or getting my own horse but at the moment it isn't looking too likely just yet.

OP - I take it from your username that you are into horse racing? If so, have you considered looking for work in that industry if you're not 100% sure about going to college?

You guessed correct, I love racing!!!
I have considered it yes, but I really need to be somewhere near home that I can keep my beloved bunnies!

Ok but the bunnies can't rule your decision on your future. The bunnies you have won't be around forever and there will always be other bunnies!!!

If you love racing why not put another thread on here asking about how to get into it. I know there is the Northern Racing College at Doncaster - why not have a look at their website and the courses they have on offer - you can combine your love of horses, racing and still get a college qualification.
I would love to have worked in racing but am waaayyyy to old now! Good luck in whatever you decide to do. :)

Thank you! I'll consider it! :)

Look at the British Racing School, or National Stud. Friends daughter went to BRS & is now an apprentice jockey. Think at 6' though unlikely you'll follow this route, but plenty of other routes to follow in racing. Standard course at BRS few months long, VERY intensive & hard work, huge drop out rate but would leave you with industry recognised qualifications & a placement in racing yard afterwards.

Going to college to do equine will teach you to keep your mouth shut about lots of things. They are a very strange environment.

Or the british racing school in newmarket if you want to get in to racing, they do a 9 week residential course. You wont have time for your own horse whilst there though and its hard work but if thats the sort of thing you prefer you might be better off doing that from what I have heard from people who have been its a much better environment socially that equine colleges. Then if you decide racings not for you theres always the option of going to do equine studies after.
