Now that the nights are drawing in...

Luckily my yard has a lit outdoor, still very cold and takes a while for the horses to get used to working in the dark but it means we keep ticking over all winter.

Once they're used to it I find working in the dark rather enjoyable as it's very quiet and no distractions as long as the weathers ok. (So thats about oh 4 evenings each winter then

I am no fair weather rider either, but do like to ride when it is light.

My OH does firework displays. Did you take those stills yourself? I have been asked to video ther displays and it is really hard to get good film.

Mine are tuned out daily even in the winter and I ride sat & sun. I have a sand school with some lights, but rubbish drainage. I try to get two sessions in during the week, one ridden and one lunge, however if weather is realy bad I do in hand work over raised poles. Have done this for past 4 years and have managed to keep us both relatively fit and sane.

I can only ride after work so I generally get down the yard between 6.40 and 7pm (dependant on trains home from work). At the moment managing to squeeze in a short (30min) ride in the outdoor school or round the fields, but will shortly be confined to the indoor which is the only floodlit. Not brilliant either as more square shaped...but will lunge or school. Do have a horse walker though so one will go on that whilst the other is worked - although its outdoor so again weather dependant.
