Now we have a suitable hunter bridle...

Havana tack for shows is my favourite. Sadly, My only saddle is black so I have to match that.

I like a browband either the same width as the noseband (probably committing a terrible faux pas here!) or a non blingy but 'different' browband:

QB - Ben is a skew though so he can have the lighter browns!

Cute CT, I am loving brown at the min but worried about splashing out and then ending up with a black dressage saddle!

Aa aargh FC!!!! The one Ben is in is stubben... Does that make it a no now then?! :(

I've checked and the bridle you have is a choco brown which is lovely - I have a Stubben CTD one and it's such a lovely rich colour.

Look how red the 'havana' is on this Stubben colour chart.

Aa - you're a bit of a resident cob guru.... Do you like to see a piebald in brown tack. I am considering changing to brown but all around me are saying no!

Sorry to hijack op!

Sorry I am no cob guru, hunters yes and as for coloured horses I would not know a good one if it stood on my foot.

All my bridles start life as dark brown and with age go darker. Personally I don't like black bridles. Here is an example of a hunter bridle for you, notice the slightly thicker brow band and the wider noseband. The reins are also on the wider side. This type of bridle could be stripped down into a snaffle on a cob, the top pair of reins would be used

.

Bridle looks ok although if I was buying one I'd go for a thicker noseband. I got my hunter bridle from Fylde. Very good value for money.

Good luck at the show :)

I *think* the one in the photo is 1 3/4 so will double check and look for 2 inches.

Next question, he is ridden in a neue Schule loose ring double jointed snaffle. I do have a rugby Pelham, I'm reluctant to use proper double as his mouth is unused to it. Would you use the RP for the show ring in preference to the snaffle? Or do you think at his age they won't mind? I thought a RP would be a nice compromise.

Any thoughts?
