Yes I'm fine thanks, haven't had laminitis in ages now
Seriously , felt really bad for about 24 hours and then bit groggy for another day then back to normal. And the Pergolide is now stored outside by the horse feed, NOT in the kitchen cupboard by the paracetamol!
My brother-in-law has Parkinsons disease and takes pergolide regularly. He ran out last visit and had to 'borrow' a couple from my horse's supply. Without it he is unable to get his muscles to respond to signals from his brain so he is virtually stuck. So it affects the neurotransmittors or something like that in the brain - just so you vaguely know, although someone with a pharmaceutical background might know more!
I know it is a human drug. But you are supposed to start on a very low dose and increase very gradually, not swallow down a 1mg straight off to start with
Not sure what it affected in my brain but I don't think I have ever been more violently sick, dizzy etc. Not a nice experience at all.
No, it's still used for humins here - maybe not in the US, though. A friend's wife used to take it and was badly affected by the side effect which sometimes occurs - compulsive gambling
