Got to the yard this morning, no electricity - mucked out using the light from my mobile phone, did a surprisingly good job

Then the girl who works at the yard turned up, said 'oh yes, YO had phoned her the night before to warn her that she was having problems with the electrics'. Now YO knows perfectly well that on 99.99% of days I am first at the yard - would a text message be too much to hope for, so I could have taken along an electric lantern/torch?

Maybe I just want too much out of life

We all get a text message from our YO if ever there is a problem like this. I was in the end stable so I could shine my car headlights into the stable. But now in a stable further down the block and couldn't get my car near if I tried. If ever water is off or anything like that there is a note on a board saying to fill buckets and tubs etc the night before and she will go round and check the horses have water. I think a text would have made things easier. But what fun you will have mucking out all the bits you missed when there wasn't enough light!!!

We wouldn't recieve a text from YO, we would end up having to fend for ourselves.

Our lights went not so long ago and i was mucking out by my cars headlights for about 4 days.

Yes I'd have got a text message or a phone call if it was known I would be the first there, but to be honest I don't think it would have been left un-resolved if there were problems the day before.

You should move to Ledbury
