NT Dry....any one used it?

As title, horse keeps getting abcesses. Feed is all correct, he it's Bare and managed well. The reason I believe he does it is because he box walks all of his poop and wee into his feet. He doesn't had a very good white line due to a huge rotation in pedal bones from a lami attack over three years ago.

Have no idea how to keep his hooves clean and dry in his stable apart from booting him up at night as well as in the day.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I do use NT dry but I also use (not at same time) virtually all Red Horse products and a basic athlete's foot powder spray from the supermarket - the latter is actually pretty good especially for overnight. Addressing feed is also a never-ending task, no matter how correct it can look on a spreadsheet.
 
I was looking at using some athletes foot powder.
I have got the antimud from red horse and the hoof stuff but as he is turned out in boots they don't stay in as his hooves are always warm.

He is insulin resistant and very very reactive to certain feeds so its taken a while to find a feed that doesn't make him footy or bang on weight.
 
I have used NT Dry it is an excellent product- easier to use in the wet weather than the dry as it hardens around the area that you direct it in. Beware that the use of boots is not just perpetuating the problem-boots get wet and sweaty and could well just be festering the thrush ready for the next day- clean them thoroughly and dry them before you put them back on.
 
I spray my boots with dilute Milton after they come off and before they go back on, along with hooves. I did have to use cleantrax to clear a chronic thursh infection where nothing had worked, even a stay at vet hospital. The cleantrax cleared it completely and now I keep on top of it with dilute milton and sole cleanse from red horse :)

I was actually thinking of getting the cleantrax but didn't know if it was as good as it said. Will be speaking to the vet on Monday so will get a plan for him with them.

Have been recommended athletes foot spray to spray the boots with too as it's an anti fungal.
 
Honestly, it really does do what is says on the tin! I bought it as people kept raving about it and I though £15 was nothing compared to the £1300 vet bill. I was pretty irritated at the faffing around doing it because it takes AGES! But it genuinely was a miracle cure. I was gob smacked and am now one of the people that rave about it :lol: And this was on my horse who had a central suculus so deep you could lose a finger in it :( For the money, give it a go. Worst case scenario you've lost £15 and a couple of hours of your time. I used a corner of a feed sack and loads of duck tape as I was too tight to fork out for a soaking boot, and it still worked :)
 
Brilliant.

Will get some ordered. Will prob get the soaking boot to as it could be used for hot tubbing as well. Saves me having to stand with them. :)
