Someone is keen to buy me a numnah as a gift....and I need recommendations.
It must be large enough for a dressage saddle, and suit a black horse. Oh, and be machine washable.
Help me shop - I'm useless at it!
Thanks!

I like the Mattes ones as they have a high wither, are generous sizes and wash well. They are also fairly thin so not too hot. They seem to last well. I also like the fact that they have velcro that undoes so you dont have to remove everything to take off the numnah. Oh, and the girth strap holder thingys are in the right place.

ooo, if you're lucky enough to have someone else pay for a numnah, make the most of it

Totally agree with others - make it a nice (and expensive!) sheepskin one. I've got a Nuumed Hiwither sheepskin pad and it's lovely and lasted really well. They come in GP and dressage style, black and white (and a couple of other colours I think too). The Bartl and Mattes are equally as nice.

Only thing you need to bear in mind is that a sheepskin pad is fairly thick and will make you're saddle a little narrower.

If you want a thin 'normal' numnahm the Nuumad HiWither saddle clothes and numnahs are fabby.

Or - how about a nice coloured one and have it embroidered?

If Money is no object and you want sheep skin the Mattes are great.

But Inchs have an amazing selection of colours and styles and loads of different prices - most of them are really hard wearing and look really nice too!

Another vote for the griffin nuumed dressage squares. Although mine does seem quite small under my saddle, but better than my white one which is huge!!
I like the velcro straps which fasten onto the D rings and keep the numnah well off the withers.
Id love one with half sheepskin, as its a faff putting my half sheepskin pad on all the time!!

Stubben numnahs are beautifully soft and last very well.

Sheepskin is lovely but they can be quite thick so make sure it won't affect the fit of your saddle.

I'm another one with a nuumed half sheepskin hi-wither numnah. It looks very smart (dove grey) and Jerry doesn't sweat when wearing it. For a sheepskin numnah it is not too thick. It was about £52.
Good luck
