Hi,
I bought a Roma high wither saddle pad about a month ago. I use it every time I ride (6 times a week and do everything including 10-15mile rides)
It's got so warn where the back of the saddle sits, it's warn sharp and has rubbed her back (saddle was fitted 2/3 weeks ago, it's brand new)

I need a new high wither one, not sheepskin as its to sweaty but something which won't wear out in under a month?
Any ideas? Shires, bridleways or nummed? Or any others?

Le Mieux are good- I have a few of the close contact ones for jumping and they wick really well (my boy sweats so much he looks like he's gone swimming).

Don't discount sheepskin during the summer, I use one year round and don't find it any more sweaty than an unlined pad :) pretty hard wearing too if you look after it :)

Sheepskin/pure wool actually absorbs sweat better than a normal pad, so although it looks like it would cause the back to be too warm, it actually keeps it drier and more comfortable.

I have that exact one, without the vents. I have to say after 1 wash the colour black washed out and the sheepskin had gone funny (washed properly!) and that because its not high wither, it really does push down on the withers (even on my wide no wither horse)

I have a selection of the nuumed hi-wither ones, and a le-mieux one with no sheepskin bits. Both are very good and seem to be very durable!

I have always used a numed Griffin Hi-Wither with absolutely no problems, in fact it was fab. However, he did sweat under it.

I now have a Le Mieux half-lambskin numnah and he doesn't sweat under it at all! Beautiful.

I would recommend both - but I prefer the Le-Meiux lambskin!!

I can highly recommend Morpheus Designs they are beautifully made (in the UK), very high quality and gorgeous to look at and touch! And not as expensive as some of the big names either ;)

They're also big enough to accommodate most saddles, I am totally in love with them and won't be buying any other makes again.

I bought one of these for my youngster and, after I was thrown off, found a broken sewing machine needle which the manufacturers had left in the hem of the pad on the inside so it stabbed my horse when I closed my leg - and then ripped my hand when I felt underneath to see what the problem was! Returned the pad but as yet haven't received a refund, an apology or another pad! Shame on you Bartl!
