Numnahs'saddlecloths for prelim dressage!!

Hi i got a bit of a problem, im doing my first dressage comp soon, left it late simply because we havnt had time lol, but anyway, i havnt got a white saddle cloth or a white cloth like numnah, what i have got is a brown fitted numnah, or a very pale pink saddle cloth...urmmm what else have i got that i think is suitable....a blue/grey saddle cloth..anyof these allowed?
what can i have under my saddle for a prelim test (prelim 13 (2006)???????
please help
also what do i have to wear?? any bits or rbidles etc banned or not permitted i need to knwo about???

I'd use the brown

Any plain coloured saddle cloth / numnah fine (possibly not pink tho

Snaffle bridle with cavesson, drop or flash noseband.

No martingale

Is it affiliated or unaff? I've seen plenty of people without white saddle cloths at unaff, i think as long as you keep it to plain colours like navy blue/black/brown it should be fine

snaffle only for dressage, no martingales or boots, grakles aren't allowed either,thats all i can think of for now!
 
Ok jodphurs - white/cream. Numnah's also have to be cream/white (correct me if im wrong) White shirt with a tie or any colour/patterened stock (nice ones on Robinsons). Of course a show jacket & suitable riding boots. Horse - nothing fancy brindle only (no martingals etc..) no boots & snaffle bit only. Good luck, If ur that unsure look it up on google im sure your'll find something.
 
Thank you, its my 5yo TB;s first ,so we are doing prelim 13 its unaffiliated and shes in a snaffle bridle. Iv got her a studed gracckle bridle for the showing AND COMPETING(blin, bling) so got a problem. For unaffikliated do you think they'l mind if i pull the studed brackly off and put on a black plain caveson noseband and flash but leave the studed browband on??rubber reins and black GP saddle. So a brown numnah should be fine??
also, you know when they say a long rein down diagonal, will i get more marks if i open her out more and hold the end buckle of my reins for her to lower her head??
also when they say on the test sheet transiiton into canter during 20m circle through half of the circle between A and x. Does that generaly mean i can make the transition any time so long as its betwen A and X and half way through the circle??

ok so cream jodhs, a tweed jacket? black boots and whats best a stock and pin or a blue tie to match my blue tweed jacket??navy gloves? thanks!:)
are those ventalated sj hats allowed at unaffiliated??
 
As long as you have the correct tack it will be ok, i have a bling browband for dressage, one just even complimented me on it!haha. as long as you change the grackle for a flash that tack sounds fine

The long rein i assume you mean the free walk. the aim there is to lengthen your reins so the horse stretches its head down and lengeths its stride. the transition can be made any time

Your dress sounds fine, its up to you with a tie or stock, not sure which is more 'common' for dressage, both are acceptable
 
aww thanks xdawnx that sounds great, just had a thought, what do you think of that brown fitted numnah with a sheepskin wither half pad i use for sj?? coz the fitted numnah is farly thin and shes a TB lol?? would that be acceptable and not freaky lol??

I usually think ties for blokes and stocks for girls.

Also free walk is on a "long" rein - not a "loose" rein. This means that your horse should follow the bit as you let the rein out. You need to keep a contact on the mouth but just let (or encourage quietly) your geeg to stretch down and out.
 
Another one that lots of people forget is the horse must not be wearing boots for the test. If you warm up in boots make sure you take them off before you go in! It is really easy to forget!

Check the schedule for any other rules. Sometimes they insist on a hat with a certain specification. PC rules are different so if it is PC you need to check PC rules. I think RC dressage rules are pretty much in line with BD.
