Please excuse my ignorance here. I have never used an exercise sheet in all my years with horses, but recently have been thinking about getting one for my wimpy youngster who has just been trained to ride. My tack shop has fluorescent fleece lined ones at a good price. Just what I am looking for BUT they only have the continental type. The ones that go over the riders legs. Nice for the rider but I am not sure how you put them on. Usually you put the sheet on then mount. How do you put these on? Don't fancy putting on whilst aboard or putting half on then mounting then finishing. Is this how it is normally done though? I guess horse gets used to it.
Told you it was a memory question!

Ps. Love the notebook entering capital letters!!

Same as above! Put under the saddle flaps and sit on top. Probably safer with a youngster as it will be far more secure. Also make sure you have a fairly tight fillet string so it won't flap around ;)

Ditto everyone else, I have one. I usually put it under the top flap. Occasionally as mine is used to his I put it over the legs if pootling around in which case I put it in the right place and make sure the flaps are easy to grab from i the saddle.

tack shop said it was made to keep riders legs warm and dry, tempting, but i immediately thought it might be a bad idea. might try for a quarter sheet instead. thank you for your replies.
