Please excuse my ignorance, but do I have to include fuel when Im calculating the weight of my lorry?

I'm trying to work out how much weight allowance I'm left with on two lorries with different payloads :D

I went to the weigh bridge with a full tank of fuel, carrying my tack and usual volume of water plus a passenger and the dogs so that I knew what weight I was left with for the horses. Fortunately I was well within the limit.

If I was buying I would want to know how much fuel theybwere carrying when the lorry was weighed.

Yes because to be legal you need to be under the maximum gross weight if you are stopped and weighed... best to take them to a weigh bridge with half a tank of fuel and with gas bottle and water tanks filled if you have living then you can be sure how much payload you have remember also you canot overload the axles so if you can ask the weigh bridge opperator for axle weights too ....

thanks :D

We've added weight for water and gas etc but weren't sure about fuel.
Guess that rules out one of the lorries then

the axle weights are on the dealers website so can get that info easily. Im just worried that by the time we spec the lorry we're going to be very limited as to what "extras" we can take with us

If you google "Horsebox payload calculator" the second link is a really useful guide to find out what payload you actually need! I would post a link but i think thats frowned upon!!
