Numpty question about topped fields

One of our fields has just been topped.
How long before we can graze it again? (We usually leave it a minimum of two weeks)
Will topped grass be much more likely to give a horse or pony laminitis? (I know leafy grass is better for them so I assume the answer is yes)

Unbeknown to me the fields containing my horses were topped with them in and they stayed in there and were all fine.

Our fields have just been topped and our horses are in there and they are fine, just move the loose stuff on top out of where they are as it will rot because of the weather and that won't be good for them.

My horse also stayed in the field while it was topped. That was a few weeks ago and there have been no ill effects.

.....as long as you are 1000000% sure that there isnt a single bit of ragwort in it. Otherwise it all has to be removed....
