The doctor has suggested RDA, so i looked on their website and it doesnt say how broken you have to be to qualify

ATM he is only able to walk approx 75 m without a rest, cannot bend over and he is also weak in one leg BUT the doctor assures us its a transitionary situation and in a years time, when the rods are removed from his spine, he should be virtually back to normal.
Yes i could ring up the local group but wanted to check if anyone knew the "rules" before i make an idiot of myself

It should be fine

When I volunteered for them they had all sorts of disabilities from people who couldn't walk at all to people with mental disabilities rather than physical

I volunteer at the moment and very much everyone welcome attitude - no "rules" as to the level of disability. It's great physio for any disability.
Good luck and hope your OH makes a speedy recovery!

Our RDA group has always catered more riders with learning disabilites than for physically disabled riders BUT have also had riders with mental health problems and a young man who had ME. Riders need to get a recommendation from their doctor, that is the only criterion that applies, unless your local group has such a long waiting list that have their own criteria. The best thing would be to ring them up and explain the situation. All the groups I've ever had anything to do with have always been very accomodating.
