As per the title.... I'm just getting back into going to local unafill horse shows again after a 10 yr break. I fancy doing a riding class with the youngster but I'm not 100% on what I should wear. I was thinking brown tweed jacket, a shirt and tie or stock - not sure which is correct, canary jods with leather gaitors

.... I wasnt finished lol!!
And short boots as I can't get leather boots to fit me!
As for horse, black saddle, black bridle, no martingale or boots. I ride her in a full cheek French link, would this be allowed? Also can she wear a numnah?

Can't really help, just didn't want you to feel ignored :D

I know you can use a numnah but it should be as inconspicuous as possible. Your attire depends on which classes you are entering I think.

What exact class are you thinking or doing as it can depend? But as its unafill it really shouldn't matter too much :) just remember as a general rule..for COBS/M+M'S the "thing" to wear is brown tack/tweed jacket..and for the TB types and show ponies a blue jacket is more appropriate :)

Give us an idea of which class you want to do. Why can't you get long boots to fit? For local showing nice leather gaiters are OK - black. Tack - I prefer brown but that is just me. Snug fitting black numnah. No boots or martingale. Plait up mane and tail or pull tail. Gloves! Hairnet!! Velvet covered hat preferably. Beige or canary jods. Tweed jacket, shirt, tie, pin. Snaffle bridle with either flash or plain cavesson. Bling up that browband if you are not doing M&M or hunter/cob classes.

Take a look at Fred the Cat or Equinational photographers for loads more useful help.

Thanks. It's just your average best ridden/combination type class. She's a tb x so will be plaited etc. I can't get long boots to fit because I'm tiny lol!
