Quick question to anyone that has or still does use Nupafeed MAH calmer,

How long did it take to work for your horse (if it did work) as I have just done 5 days on the loading dose so far and not sure it has made much of a difference
I only got the 1ltr and need to order the 3 ltr fairly soon if I am going to carry on using it, but not sure if it is just not working for my horse or if I haven't given it long enough.

Any advice would be great. :D

I have used this product on several horses and it worked on all of them, BUT on one it took three months to kick in! We only tried for so long as the owner bought the massive tub, so we thought we may as well use it up. It was worth it in the end though as the pony in question became an angel and stayed that way until the owner stopped using it a couple of years later.
I have known it work in a couple of days too.

I tend now to veer towards the calcium based calmers. I have used Equifeast's cool calm and collected on several of my own horses and recommended it to about 10 of my clients. We have seen a rapid improvement in every single horse. It's the only one I use now.

I have used it quite abit on yearlings comeing in for sale prep for the first time and quite a few it hasnt made much of a difference but a few it worked well on. I dont think i would be rushing to use it because it probably didnt work for more than the ones it did work for. Hope it does work for you it can take a while.

It took 2 months for a noticible result to be seen in my boy. HOWEVER it does work , Although nothing is going to stop him seeing horse eating leaves worms or god forbid the doves of doom but its now a case of small girly sqeak rather than full blown OMG its gonna get me turning inside out.

I started my mare on nupa when she went out to spring grass, somebody had mentioned the grass could be calcium deficient an therefore so could she, so we started the nupa..I noticed a difference within a week but some can take longer. Nupa are extremely helpful on the phone if it doesn't appear to be working give them a call and they are more than happy to give further advice.

Unfortunately 1ltr doesn't go far on the loading dose! I used it all last winter and I'm sure that it worked! The only problem is that maybe it is a placebo for the rider?? It certainly gave me more confidence knowing that my tb was on it!

I noticed a difference after a month when feeding Nupaffed to my mare. I kept her on this for a good 9months but it is very expensive. Have just ordered some (Heavy) magnesium which is 99.2% pure at £11.99. My mare has been on this for a month now and it's deffinately working.

Thank you all for your comments.

Me being the idiot I am, due to bank holiday and not organising myself soon enough I have managed to run out. But sounds like I should keep going with it so will have to start loading dose all over again LOL.

From the sounds of it I should carry on for two months with it and see what happens and if no change I will give c,c and collected a go as never heard of that calmer before. Thanks again for your replies :)
