Hi everyone!

Has anyone had any experience with using a calmer called Nupafeed? A friend of mine seems to think using it is making her horse doolally and bolting off and throwing her.

I have, and so does a friend, and several eventers on my yard use it: nothing has had that response! Is it possible that the cold weather/hard feed/poss lack of turnout has more to do with it?!

Have used this for a very sharp horse in the past. Didn't think it made him a lot calmer but it certainly didn't make him worse!
Would agree it's more likely to be cold weather....

It had that effect on my boy too - sent him bonkers (and another horse on my yard!). I have since discovered that some horses just don't respond well to magnesium. I tried it again a few months later - and got bucked off and ended up in A&E with concussion!

If it sends them loopy, them stop it, give it a break, and then try again some time later to see if something else was causing the behaviour. I now know Ronnie cannot take magnesium in any format.

It did work on my old boy, he used to get very excited when he went eventing, used to be a complete nutter.
He was a different horse was I used it on him, much quieter and relaxed.

I had great results using it with my mare and so did several others at my yard, but it sent my friends horse loopy. We saw better results with mares than geldings through
