i am in need of some information on what i can do to help two horses that are having a hard time of it in the gambia, west africa. i am currently helping my friends with their eco resort and i have recently come across 2 horses that live on the property that seem to be having a hard time of it. they seem too skinney and just dont seem right. I have read where it is rough going for any horse in west africa but i was hoping that i could get some solid advice from some experts so as i can nurse these two beautiful creatures back to acceptible form. i will very much appreciate any help. sincerely,

Just been sent this and know the HHO lot will know what to do

my first guesses would be lack of calories , insect predation and internal parasites . An increase in quality and quantity of food ,relief from bugs and some sort of worming program are most likely what is needed . Lots of luck and sympathy

Hiya, I know of a charity in The Gambia called "The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust" I get their newsletter and they appear to do an excellent job. I wonder if they could advise you best on how to help these horses, especially as they will be knowledgeable about local parasites etc and treatments available. I do have an email address for them so if you PM me I will send it to you. Good luck with nursing them!

Hiya again, just found out they have a website now with all contact details, if you Google "Gambia horse and donkey trust" it comes up first. I know the address is in the UK but if you contact them I think they would put you in contact with the people in the Gambia.
