did my test 2day,it went pants!!The xc is well up 2 height as expected but a good covering of grass and rhe ground is fine if u take it easy!!last jump is VERY wide & a lil unfare if u ask me,but the skinnies hav alt's that i will be taking!!! They hadnt done sj course when i was there BUT matey just called and said its small compared 2 s of e??? not sure if she telling me porkies??i will find out 2mrw! Think i shud win an award 4 the worst dressage score EVER???????? need to send my mare away 4 some dressage training,as she gets so tense at shows but is fine at home in school(any ideas 4 trainers in SE kent?)

My test was pants too, although i thought i did better than the mark i got!!

Did get lost though and stood in the middle whilst trying to figure out what the hell was next!!

Show jumping is TINY compared to SofE....quite disappointing really!! Your friend (is that Jo??) is not telling porkies!

Did you notice that the majority of the PN xc jumps are also in the Novice course?? Im also going to take the alternative at 8, but may go the direct routes for everything else.

Oh, and the last jump is HUGE....when i schooled round the course last year with hamlet, he jumped ON it as thought it was a bank or something!!

Hello hammie -

Twasn't me who said the SJ was small as I'd left before they'd finished building it, but glad it is as I thought S of E was HUGE!

Think I might take the alternative at 14 - now that really is HUMONGOUS!

OOOhhhh....can you remind me what 14 is?? Is that the drop fences, and where would the alternative be??

I thought your mark was mean too, but I think if you looked at the marks overall the judge looked like she was a hard marker.

Do you really think it was mean? I was quite disappointed, but knew i would get the penalty marks, plus 4's for the walk over C (which i remembered at the last minute!) and canter on wrong strike off...but even so, was hoping for about 37/38...or was that being too optimistic?

I did see quite a few marks in the 40's, but there were also some that were really low! It was a man judgeing...do you know who he was?

thanks for your help today - much appreciated

Yes, I thought Bridget B W was judging? - or Pootler: Are you a man!?!?

Was also disappointed with my Dressage mark - but then I usually am. The more lessons I have and schooling I do, the worse it gets!!!

Hammie. Jump 14 is that massive skinny log pile/roll top thing. The alternative is to jump the hanging log going back the other way.

No. 15 is the skinny hanging log and then you're down to the water.

Really early start for me tomorrow. My friend has a great score of 27 after the dressage, so she really wants me to be there tomorrow to show support - good or bad. But I also have to be at Blue Barn for the dressage. I just have to keep reminding myself, I love it !!

Hey

I saw that score. Woo-hoo - 27! She's in the lead I presume? Well done her.

I'm going to get there at 7.30am - how awful! Hope the gates are open!!!

I never saw the alternative there!! As you come over the ditch/pallisade at 13, which direction would i need to go in to find the hanging log alternative? Wasnt planning to walk the course again!

The huge jump at 14 was definately in the novice course last year - can remember walking round and noticing it as being big....think it was at the bottom after the drops?

Hi,i must get some sleep soon,as up at 6.30!! well i dont blame the judges 4 my naff marks.B was tense, unbalance&just not playing game(lil moooo).
(XC) after the palisade(ditch in front)u have a log, then i was planning to turn right 2 jump the alt,(as log pile is too narrow and HUGE)then u have to do the skinny log.BUT will i be crossing tracks if i turn right after the alt??? gowwwwwwwd knows?? may need 2 go&have another looky 2mrw b4 SJ.VERY pleased SJ is small, ive got the XC 2 worry about! GOOD luck every1.

13 is the ditch palisade

14 is the huge log pile thing - called the South East Eventers League Stack. It's pretty narrow which makes it look bigger.

The alternative if you don't want to jump that is to circle round and jump the hanging log that's heading back towards jump 13.

Jump 15 is another hanging log, I make it 3 strides away from the SEEL Stack.

Then you're off down to the water.

Must go to bed now. Got to get up at 5.30am - aagghh!

Thanks for that...may attempt the stack anyway, but if it all goes t**s up, then will attempt to find the alternative and jump that! I just dont like turning too much, so may be better to go straight for it!

See you all tommorow!
