Does anyone have any experience of the Nurstead Court Intro/PN course? Have heard mixed reviews but can't find any pictures.

Not sure if they have an Intro but they definitely have a PN course.

Thanks

They don't have an intro

The PN is ok though, from what i remember.

They didn't have proper water there. Was sort of a small gravel pit and a hose pipe lol

It is a very nice picturesque (sp!) place and always nice and warm there.

It is quite hilly, I have only ever done the Novice there which I think it quite up to height and asks a few questions.

Not too sure about the PN. But will prob be taking my 4yr old rising 5 there this year for the PN so it cant be that bad or I wouldnt be considering it for her!

Good luck of you go

I can post a few Novice pics for you if you like for you to get a sort of idea!

well i rode the PN last year (no intro) and the XC was pretty much several PN fences but with LOADS of JRN/novice fences too - if i could have stomached the JRN SJing i could have done the JRN XC the PN and novice courses were so similar!

SJ is all on a serious slope

, dressage has LOADS of warmup and is lovely and flat, and the XC is hilly but a lovely bold ride - the water comes at the very end of the course and is a very manicured "bowl", there was a skinny fence behind a tree after it and it caught 50% if not more people out and loads stopped at it!

Would go there again though

I found some PN fence pics:

About half way round, you then turn right down steep hill.

This is just before the above fence.

Thanks for those and the info everyone, thinking of going PN there this year, sadly not open for schooling though.

Spoke to the organisers and they said there are going to be some amendments to the couse this year which should be finished by the end of March.

I know the couse description says it is set over 'undulating parkland' so have visions of LOADS of downhill jumping, I have issues with downhill jumping!!!

I think its a lovely course - i schooled round there last year after the event had taken place.
I do agree with Hattikins though, and probably think it is one of the tougher PN courses.....for example, I remember the last jump also being in the Novice course - my poor boy had never seen a jump so wide, and thought it was a bank!!

We actually jumped on it and then off, but thankfully only had a little graze (hopefully he has learnt not to make that mistake again!).

Wish it ran a little later on in the season so we could ensure our confidence is mega high!!

Me too think it's one of the bigger ones. The SJ seems to cause a lot of trouble as it's on quite a slope, though I think only one downhill fence last year.

I always dread jumping those boxy XC jumps with the wood chip / carrots centre, as I wonder how the horse knows to jump OVER it, not ON IT!

I went last year and found that the PN had quite a few of the novice fences in it, I also think it is one of the tougher PN courses. The showjumping was horrible due to the ground being very undulating and caused loads of problems.
