This morning I was mortified to find my gelding who is a cribber....actually cribbing on my mares fly rug!!!!! Im gutted as u dont know what to do with him anymore, ive fenced off cribbing opportunitys and now hes started to do this.

Has anybody elses horse done this and what can I do???

If you totally remove normal cribbing options then he is getting even more stressed so will crib on anything available, some will use their own legs and keep doing it even though they are bleeding, you need to try and find out why he cribs so badly, has he been scoped for ulcers? does he get plenty of fibre to eat, if he is just doing it habitually then give him a post so he can crib as he will continue to try and find somewhere.

Agree. If for some reason i have to put my horse some where there is nothing for him to crib and windsuck on my O/H will bang a fencing post in somewhere to give him a outlet.
Mine doesn't do it all the time and i run electric wire along the fencing so he cant damage too much but i do make sure he has somewhere available for him.
