I didnt know what these were, so just found out that the synequin my vets put my horse on for treatment alongside his hyonate jabs, which they class as treatment is classed as a complimentary treatment! by my insurers.

at £152 a pop i want to cry, as he has 3 a day for the initial 35 days being so big.

Boooo sad, ok so not only read your policies which im sure most people do, look up any words you are unsure of on the internet! I feel so silly right now, and have an annoyed hubby!

Which insurance company are you with, if you don't mind me asking?

I spent a couple of years working at an equine practice and we used synequin an awful lot - I have never known of an insurance company refusing to pay for it!

It may be worth your vet either phoning or writing to them too, I have known other decisions changed once the vet has become involved.

yes vets going to write to them to see if we can get something done, they are usually very good with everything but I never in a million years thought they wouldnt cover the synequin as its such an integral part of the treatment
