Are nylon bits softer than metal ones? Currently got ponio is a stright bar rubber bit but it's too big for her mouth and I can't find any narrower

The bloke at the tack shop said most people use nylon and iron bits now but I have no experience of nylon ones and don't know anyone with one.

They are great for horses that don't like the feel of metal. You can't bend them like rubber but aren't as hard as a metal bit.
We have two in them, one hates metal and the other finds rubber bits to big for her mouth, both go very sweetly in them.
