:O Cant Believe what i have just read!

I worry about taking my babies for walks one a week never mind sitting on them. Im horrified , their poor backs wont fuse properly :(

I can't for one minute suspect the TB racers are trotted up & down tarmac carrying full weight riders as yearlings.

You;d be surprised! They are started at around 18 months old, to race at 2. You wouldn't see a heavy rider on them, but certainly where I was, everyone who rode them was a normal size and weight - myself included (5"9 and at that time, about 9 stone) hacking on the roads in walk and trot,

Don't even look. We need them to stop breeding these low quality horses- its this rubbish at the bottom end thats devaluing our horses.

I'll probably get jumped on now but you only have to look at the pics to see what kind of people are involved in breeding and selling these poor creatures... very sad :(

And you only have to talk to people on racing yards to find out what sort of people they are. What is your point?

In both cases it's not about class, it's just perpetuating what everyone else does to make a bit of money without questioning whether it's in the horse's best interests.
 
Could be worse. Skinny rider on him once, no tack, not bitted up and not 'broken' as such nor been driven.


Not saying it's right by any means.
