If yes… please point me to it… if no wasn’t the Oaks great? I don’t watch much flat but great to see the pacemaker nearly do it. The winner is a beautiful filly.
And who tomorrow? I’m rooting for The Lion in Winter because it’s a cool name. 🤣
 
I was shouting for Whirl in the Oaks. Loved watching Aiden O’Brien getting his horses ready. Very sad about Norman’s Cay being fatally injured.
 
I couldn’t watch after Norman's Cay- it was sickening, the poor horse tried to keep galloping on but the leg was swinging
 
If the first two in the oaks hadn't been trained by the same trainer there would have been a stewards enquiry as there was definite interference and poor whirl was impeded by the winner.
 
Thought the coverage has been a lot better for this meeting on ITV - much less fashion and more horses, them riding the course just then was really interesting though kept wanting him to look up to see the camber from a jockeys perspective!
 
Naughty Clarendon House just standing in the stalls. It always amazes me when they do that - no interest at all in following the 18 others.
 
Ive done a £1 each way on Al Wasl Storm. Just got a feeling, and long odds

Not usually a grey fan but Nightwalker is stunning

Aiden was so calm when Delecroix was spinning etc while trying to finish preparing him
 
Lovely looking horse as well

Wonder if that was their plan?! Must be a great feeling staying clear like that, one of the pundits beforehand said he was guaranteed to stay

Be interesting to see the timings they looked really strung out
 
There is a Bluegrass song called Tennessee Stud…which my hubby was often requested to sing….
Not a bad reason for an each way bet!!!
 
I thought Aiden's saddling in the middle of a crowded paddock bordered on dangerous, with the horse nearly breaking free and running loose in the paddock at one point. Everyone else either uses the saddling boxes (open or with the stable door) or saddles sensitive horses in the racecourse stables. Aiden should be told to conform.

I was so pleased that WL got his chance to win the Derby. RM wins all the time and it's nice seeing other jockeys get a chance at the top prize. The winner is obviously a true stayer and I wonder if he'll go for the St. Ledger. Some of the other good horses got drained for stamina by the going. Epsom had had a lot of rain in the week up to the Derby.

I was also pleased for Rab Havlin winning the first on Spiritual. Same as the Derby off near the front and galloped the field into the ground.

The coverage was interesting when it showed the aerial shots. The middle of the course was almost deserted and even the stands didn't look full. Where I live is on the flight route for helicopters into the course. Probably due to the weather forecast but I think only 1 went overhead all afternoon.

The coverage went on about 'rebuilding' the Derby to it's former prominence. The simple answer is to reduce the darn prices. The locals used to be able to get into the centre of the course for free and regularly lined the rails but now it's all fenced off and you have to pay.

Clarendon House was such a monkey wasn't he, so talented too.

I also don't understand why Aiden saddles his horses in the middle of such a busy atmosphere, you'd have thought the relative quietness of the saddling boxes would be better for them. However, that aside the guy is a genius, he is spoilt by the firepower he gets sent but he can obviously train to the minute and seems a lovely guy too.

Did anyone notice how New Ground finished after tanking to the start, pulling like stink during the race and not really settling, took off on sticky ground. Be interesting to see if he goes for the Arc.
