Just got home, yes left 7.30 got home 10.00.Long day but a good one. What fabulous going we were one of the last to use the course and the going was as good as the first. It was brilliantly organised and I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.
We were lying second after dressage which is a miracle either the lessons are paying off or he didn't realise he was eventing, Then hours to wait with baby to keep happy[she was an angel] The show jumping should have been a breeze but he was more interested in the trade stands than the jumps and had one down. Then had a lovely xc round so finished 4th[would have won if he picked his feet up]
But a long drive home, nearly 3 hours, still its great to be back eventing ,

Fantastic result!!

Was a lovely event, and couldnt believe how good the ground was!!

No he did the dressage to music yesterday [check my post] Today the coloured [I am scared of my shadow ]was out and he has the lesson with Steven Smith on Wednesday from Horse mag. [I know I am lucky ]

Good start to the season. Glad you didn't break him before wednesday. I thought of you as i was popping a few XC fences sunday afternoon. Took it easy just incase we broke both of them.
What level were you playing at?

I have to say the going was fabulous, they really did put so much effort into ensuring everyone had good going. It was a bit of a bummer when I couldnt wait till the end to go round the xc because after the last horse went, they were rolling staight away. Glad you had a good day! I would definitely go again!

Prize was a lovely 6'9" rug,one of those that allow evaporation, so brilliant prize for 4th, the girl that came 2nd got a scarf! but maybe it was a very nice one. Only did intro to start season and he only did one of those last year and won then did pre novice .last year only started June time. This year intend to do pre novice and then Novice the height and technical elements shouldn't worry him but he hated ditches when we started last year and one trainer said he would never get over it but went on a course with Nigel Taylor and that was the turning point ,he was brilliant with him.Riding club open hunter trials next for him. Come on!!!!!!!
