took a trip to bewdley today to see my oberon
he has been at school, four weeks almost
ran to his stable and give him a huge hug n lots of treats ( he has put lots of weight on, filled out a tad and is a bit hairy for my liking!)
gave him a good brush, and firstly noticed how his head carriage was a lot more low- rather than giraffe like- more trusting and accepting- to the point where olivier ( who breaking him/did his teeth) can grab his tongue and play with it- obee not blinking an eyelid.
he is confidently walk trot canter on lunge
canter to stop by voice command 'ho'
stands on his own until told to walk
olivier then proceded to jump up n down beside him and jump on- leading him in circle with olivier leant over his back.
then slid off, and mounted properly. i was over the moon at this point
he walked a few circles around- but needed lots of encouragment: oberon just needs the penny to drop- how to walk out....he is just a bit laid back
but id rather have a horse you can fizz up with a few oats than one you cant control because it s hot headed !!!
the next staged are to trot canter in school and hack out a few times
they think he will be ready in the next two weeks

olivier loves him- and complemented how even though he is big, he is well balanced for his age and moves very well
and thinks i will do well in the shows
and to top it off i bought him a brand new wintec pro jump saddle- it is dsoooo comfy and your backside doesnt move out of it
so have for sale: humphries & swain brown dresssage/show saddle 17.5"/18" wide serge half panel (width can be changed by saddler £50) £300 pm me
