ok, on the one hand this is a good thing - how many other peoples OH spontaneously muck out BUT I am trying to semi deep litter on aubiose and establish a decent base ! it is also costing a fortune and making my muck heap grow when disposal is a complete nightmare. I though sending him on a stable management course would be a good thing ! apparently it doesnt look as nice and smart as when he has done it properly. bless.

Mine was supposed to 'help' once.. he pushed the wheelbarrow down then proceeded to put his sun glasses and hat onto my mare who look bemused whilst i mucked out.

Does he offer training classes to unruly Oh's ?

I made him do his nvq 1 with me on saturdays before we got the horse as he rode but hadnt done much of the care aspect. he promised to behave if I didnt make him do his level 2 !

On the odd occasion when my parents muck out they always comment on how my horse could pee for Scotland and that it took them agees. Go up the next day and most of his bed has gone!

Do the one thing that you should never never do with an OH, show him how much it costs !

PS make this a one time only deal, you don't want to get into bad habits

You could auction him out for a weeks worth of mucking out....I'll start the bid £10 (not been rudely low its just a starting bid )

I've started getting up even earlier so I can muck out before work to get round exactly this (can't call it a problem really can I ) lol

the costs thing doesnt work - I bought a new rug and he asked me why it was so cheap ??!! ( 29.99 shires tempest for the hairy pony - after my last pampered boy he didnt know rugs came cheaper than £100 ). I think I have a keeper !!!
