October weather

Calm sunny and cold today but they are giving wind and rain and more wind and rain for the rest of the month. It feels like winter already. I could cry

I went to Italy to escape the British weather and it poured with rain very unusual the hotel said

I know I’m on part-livery this year but the fields where my horses are means I have to walk down and up a steep muddy slope with pot-holes. They’re living out 24/7 still and I have to do this journey up and down three times if I do both my horses on the same day as I can’t bring in together. I nearly slipped under one the other day. It’s only the beginning of the bad weather so I feel depressed about it already. I only moved here 3 months ago due to my lovely old yard closing. There is a massive shortage of spaces in this area. I think they do move up and closer though as winter progresses.

Paddocks as wet now as they usually are in Feb. If we get high winds with trees in full leaf on soaked ground it'll be carnage

The temperature has dropped in the last couple of days - really feeling the chill in a morning the last couple of days. Definitely cold toe season!

On Tuesday it was horrendous weather. Soooo cold. Winter rugs on. Pulled into stables. Fields under water in places. Yesterday and today ,, 17 degrees. Blue sky. Sweetitch boy back in his SI rug plus fly mask.

Fields are waterlogged and looks like they will be for weeks
